In March 2006 four ladies got together to sing in harmony.  We instantly realised that our voices blended well and hence the quartet Allegro was born.  We are all experienced soloists but really enjoy the close harmonies we produce together.  Our fast increasing repertoire, which includes songs from the 16th century up to present day pop, has proved to be very popular with audiences.

Mary-Anne Wright (tenor), Gail Grainger (lead), Maggie Ellis-Press (bass) and, Val Crowley (baritone) got together in February 2007 to form Topaz.  They have been working hard to put together a repertoire of songs old and new to entertain audiences.  They have a vast amount of experience within the quartet as two members have been singing barbershop for over 15 years.

Topaz the gemstone has a mystical power to balance the emotions and calm passions, it also is known to release tension, giving a feeling of joy; which Topaz the quartet is hoping to emulate.
